This project involved construction of the first stage of Baseball WA’s new headquarters. This stage included the construction of the administration office, dugouts and tiered stand, entry gate facility, entry stairs and wheelchair access, change rooms and kiosk.
- Nicholson Road, Canning Vale
- Tender
The more unique aspects of this project included the concrete tiers for the seating and the access tunnels between dugouts and the change rooms. The baseball stadium was designed by Bateman Grundmann Wilson Architects. Gavin Construction worked closely with the architects to ensure the project proceeded without issues or delay, completing the project on time and within the clients specified budget.
Given the topography of the site, particular attention was given to the levels of each project component requiring the construction of multiple retaining walls, stairs and ramps. One of the more challenging aspects of the structure was the underground access tunnels linking the dugouts to the change rooms, and the careful attention to drainage to prevent flooding during winter months.
The majority of the internal areas were dedicated to public and administrative amenities that must withstand particularly high levels of use. These facilities were completed with full height wall tiling and meticulously chosen fixtures and fittings to ensure maximum durability. The quality of the finishes to these areas is of the highest standard thanks to the excellent team of finishing trades on this project. Their ability to work together and achieve a high quality finish with a tight construction program was a highlight of this project.
