Project Features

Prominent design feature:
A curved glass curtain wall to the front entrance is a distinctive feature of the design providing deep natural light and an impression of openness to the building.

Construction features: To achieve the client’s time frame and recognizing the issues of the subject site, the building was constructed using tilt-up concrete panels. Due to the location of the building and the volume of traffic passing this busy stretch of Scarborough Beach Road, careful attention was paid to the construction planning to minimize inconvenience or delays to road users whilst cranes were on site. Traditional in-situ concrete suspended floors were provided to the first floor and creative mouldings were applied to the elevation to highlight the glazed curved curtain wallions.

Internal features: Located adjacent to busy roads, the Mitchell Freeway and Scarborough Beach Road, traffic noise was addressed with the use of double glazing. Feature ceilings, exposed steel columns and specialized lighting have been used to great effect in each room of the building, and a double level void to the entry provides an imposing welcome to visitors.
