innovation: The hangar ‘Mega’ doors were imported from Europe and are like a giant
Roman Blind, they were required so the hangar capacity could allow for the
wingspan of a Boeing 737. They have also been tested under severe storm
conditions and have proven to be extremely quiet compared to the traditional
doors on the older hangars around this new facility. The epoxy flooring to the
hangar provides a non-slip but polished finish. The special feature of this
product is to provide enough reflected light to the soffit of the planes for
the servicemen and ground crews. All in all, this project utilizes an
interesting combination of commercial and industrial architectural products
that give the building its ‘high spec’ executive finish and feel.
