This custom built ‘Business Centre’ is the third stage of Enjo’s expansion program in as many years. It houses modern administrative offices, and a warehouse servicing the whole of Australia.
- Aldous Place, Booragoon
- Repeat client / negotiated contract
This building continues the liberal and artistic application of the vibrant and resplendent blue and yellow ENJO livery, as a prominent design feature.
The building license was split into two applications in order to 'fast track' handover of the Warehouse. The warehouse was Phase 1, and was at lock-up stage within 3 weeks of building license issue. The Office was completed within 8 weeks completing the second phase of the project on time. Tilt-up concrete panels have been used to maximize the net usable space and minimize construction time of the warehouse. The ground floor slab was constructed with a + - tolerance of between 2 to 3-mm to accommodate the use of a specialised turret forklift. Structural steel was selected in combination with the new King Floor system to construct the entire office envelope. Floating bulkheads suspended from the ceilings were used to duct air-conditioning and also provide mood lighting to work stations.
The interior was designed to incorporate a contemporary European feel with an open floor plan, using bleached timber and glass extensively throughout. Vaulted ceilings to the upstairs offices take advantage of the curved roofline. The warehouse was designed for minimal delineation and maximum integration between the office and the warehouse to complement both environments.
